Pizza Perfect – NYC Vacation

I am currently on vacation, in NYC.  It’s great to have some time off to relax and regroup. While on a late night walk, my friend and I spotted a brick oven pizza place.  Ummm, pizza and a brick oven, count me in.

Paesano is a Italian restaurant, in Little Italy.  It’s small and quiet with romantic and cozy atmosphere.  We ordered the classic cheese pizza and it was so good.   The crust was thin and crispy, with just the right amount of sauce and cheese.  It was light and non-greasy.

While waiting for our pizza, I was able to get a look at some of the other dishes, being served to customers.  They looked wonderful as well.  After tasting the pizza, I will definitely go back and try more dishes.

Releasing some stress

Paint Nite

Everyone needs a night off to just have fun and let their creativity flow.  I decided to try Paint Nite at World of Beer.  I was a little nervous at first. I am not a painter. I can barely draw a decent stick figure but I needed to get out of my comfort zone and try something new.

I swallowed my fears and jumped all in.  It was a great night and I met a lot of nice people.  Everyone was happy and encouraging.  I think I did pretty good for my first time and I look forward the next paint night.

I definitely recommend Paint Nite for anyone who is feeling creatively block, needs a night out, or just want to meet new people.  Check Groupon for deals or search for Paint Nite classes in your area.

Pics of the week

I have not taken pictures in a while.  I really missed being outdoors, especially on the trails.   Here are a couple of pics from my week.

Remember to Take Care of Self

Sometimes, we get so caught up in taking care of others, we forget to take care of ourselves.  You are the most important person in your life.  Even if you have a family, put your health and well being as a top priority.  You can’t  take care of everyone else and treat yourself like crap.  If you have a family, you definitely have to make sure you take care of your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health or you will be of no use to anyone.

So don’t be afraid to say no, you need some alone time, or just shut the world out. You deserve it.  So take that walk, stay in bed all day, go to the beach, or play that video game. Just take care of you.

Beach Trip – Pt. 2

Nothing beats spending quality time with family. We escaped to the beach, for my mom’s birthday, and it was wonderful. The weather was amazing and the kids has a blast.

We stayed at the Beach Cove Hotel at North Myrtle Beach.  The hotel was nice but the room was a lot smaller than it looked online.  Our room was on the 15th floor and the view was amazing. I swear I could have stayed on the balcony all night.  It has multiple outdoor pools plus an indoor pool. The kids loved the lazy river. There is also a Tiki Bar and snack bar.

Friday night, we took the kids down to Broadway at the Beach for some shopping and dancing. The next day, we ate at  the Giant Crab seafood buffet. They had just about anything you could think of and all you can eat crab legs for $30.  It was well worth the money.

Although we only stayed two day, it was great spending time with family and watching the kids enjoy themselves.  With all the stress from the last six months, we all needed a getaway.
